We located an elevated paved area with barbecue facilities and retractable awning immediately to the rear of the home for entertaining purposes and visually linked the space by broad steps leading down to a formal lawn, swimming pool and pool cabana, all designed in an architectural formal style that complements the residence.

This property is located nearby Randwick Racecourse and had several horse stables in the rear but was lacking off-street parking. We utilised footprint of the horse stables to construct a double garage and attached cabana which opens in two directions, one onto the stylish geometric swimming pool and secondly to the adjacent blond reconstituted stone entertaining area. 

The cabana incorporates a kitchen large day bed and television and is a wonderful place to socialise, escape to watch weekend sport or a weekend nap. The parapets and wide opening doors have been designed in the style of the home and paint colours further tie the cabana back to the home itself.

The swimming pool has been designed with internal sitting and entertaining areas and incorporate spa jets and blowers for relaxing and therapeutic purposes and can be heated to spa like temperatures.

This flowing formal swimming pool has translucent turquoise glass tiles that cause the water to shimmer and sparkle. From the elevated terrace adjacent to the house the views towards the swimming pool at night are kept stunning and maximised with numerous pool and garden lights to add life and sparkle. 

The swimming pool and cabana are set within landscaped gardens brimming with an intentionally simple palette of glossy hedging plants that does not detract from the main features. 

To ensure the plants viability we incorporated composting, heavy mulching and a water-wise fully automatic drip irrigation system linked to large water storage tanks.

A Total Concept undertook the cabana, landscape and swimming pool design, obtained building approval, provided detailed specifications for the project, recommended contractors, obtained competitive tenders, and organised the building contractors. We then undertook the management of the construction of the project for our clients, leaving them to utilise their time elsewhere.
